About Rising Seas

Connecting culture and climate awareness in creative and engaging ways, Rhythmix Rising Seas presents a free, outdoor series, May through August, transforming Alameda’s waterfront parks with live music, dance, and theater.
Experience KT Nelson & dancers’ audience-immersive choreography acknowledging the fragility of living on an island amidst a climate crisis. The dance is set to a soundscape of the voices of local residents and climate leaders exploring the question “Where do we draw the line?”.

Enjoy the theatrics of the “Climate Detective from the Future”, directed by Jeff Raz, as he looks for climate clues to find out where things went wrong and where things are headed in a positive direction. Each location tells a unique site-specific story.
Acknowledge our ancestral lands and learn an Earth Song with Kanyon CoyoteWoman Sayers-Roods. Listen to music and stories from the island cultures of Puerto Rico, Bali, Hawai’i and the Philippines for a global perspective about living in balance and respect for our natural surroundings.
Dive deeper into the world of environmental conservation with Conversations About Climate Change, a series of interviews conducted by Tina “bean” Blaine with local and global climate leaders.
Participate in fun hands-on activities with local artists and climate organizations to learn about actions you can take to help mitigate climate change and imagine a more connected and sustainable future.
